Who's It Gonna Be Posted by: Archimedes on Nov 03, 2008 - 06:49 PM

Politics

Mostly this is just an excercise to see how correct I am in my predictions of the upcoming election. With everything that the last several months has held, the fact that we're STILL at war in Iraq and Afganistan, the fact that the greatly deregulated markets (thanks to the great deregulator himself) has now gone tits up and has cost the American tax payer seven hundred billion dollars, all of these things considered, this race is still likely to be closer than it should be. But here are the evil bunneh's predictions.

Okay, here is the evil bunneh's prediction...

Overall, I believe that Barack Omaba will sweep the electoral college vote winning handily with a total over 378 electoral votes to John McCain's 160.

The states, I believe will fall up in this fashion:

For Barack - 378 Total

Washington - 11 votes
Oregon - 7 votes
California - 55 votes
Nevada - 5 votes
Colorado - 9 votes
New Mexico - 5 votes
North Dakota - 3 votes
Minnisota - 10 votes
Iowa - 7 votes
Missouri - 11 votes
Wisconsin - 10 votes
Illinois - 21 votes
Indiana - 11 votes
Ohio - 20 votes
Maine - 4 votes
New Hampshire - 4 votes
Massachusetts - 12 votes
Vermont - 3 votes
New York - 31 votes
Rhode Island - 4 votes
Connecticut - 7 votes
New Jersey - 15 votes
Pennsylvania - 21 votes
Maryland - 10 votes
Delaware - 3 votes
Washington D.C. - 3 votes
Virginia - 13 votes
Hawaii - 4 votes

And the two surprise wins I think will come from the following...

Florida - 27 votes
Georgia - 15 votes

For John McCain - Total 160

Montana - 3 votes
Idaho - 4 votes
Wyoming - 3 votes
Utah - 5 votes
Arizona - 10 votes (but this might be a state that surprises people and winds up in Obama's line)
South Dakota - 3 votes
Nebraska - 5 votes
Kansas - 6 votes
Oklahoma - 7 votes
Texas - 34 votes
Arkansas - 6 votes
Lousiana - 9 votes
Mississippi - 6 votes
Alabama - 9 votes
Tennessee - 11 votes
Kentucky - 8 votes
West Virginia - 5 votes
North Carolina - 15 votes
South Carolina - 8 votes (but another state to watch...)
Alaska - 3 votes

I think the only one that might *not* fall into Barack's column is Missouri, in which case the electoral collage map will show 367-171 in favor of Obama. But I'm banking on the fact that Missouri will fall up under Obama. Let's see how close I am... :)
